Windows 10 is the new OS from the company. Microsoft says that the adoption of Microsoft 10 is unprecedented, having been taken on by more than 200 million consumers. 40% of those activations have happened since Black Friday. Compared to Windows 7, it is growing at a rate 140% faster, and compared to Windows 8 it is 400% more prevalent at this point. Plus, more than 75% of their enterprise customers are trying upgrades to Windows 10. Perhaps this is a sign that Windows 10 is really the OS that Microsoft users have been wanting all this time.
Earlier in 2015, Microsoft stated that they wanted Windows 10 on 1 billion devices in 2-3 years. It seems like they are well on that track. Perhaps if Windows 10 is really great, it will allow Microsoft to take back some of the market share it has lost to Android and Apple on mobile devices, and stop all the groaning and moaning that has been common from users of Windows 7 and 8.
