Presidential candidate Donald Trump has been making a lot of waves in the media and has gathered a large following. He has people both cheering and booing his plans, however, he doesn’t seem to have anyone who feels just meh about him. Either you love him or you hate him. However you feel about Trump, he recently announced some interesting plans for the iPhone, should he become president. Trump says that Apple will make their products in the US instead of China if he becomes the leader of this country, presumably because his aim is to bring jobs and more income into this country.
Some political analysts are calling Trump a hypocrite because many of the products his companies sell are made overseas. They also don’t see the logic inside his plans to force companies to move manufacturing from other countries to the United States, because some say that instead of creating economic opportunity, it could mean economic ruin. This is because most of the suppliers for all of the parts that go into an iPhone or Apple computer are based in Asia. That’s just the way things have been developed over the course of the development of the electronics industry. In addition, political analysts say it’s not in the power of the president to force a company to manufacture in a certain place.
However, Trump’s ideas obviously strike a chord with many Americans, some of whom have lost jobs to outsourcing, and many of whom are struggling. Can you blame them for wanting more jobs to come to the United States? However, what these people might not know is that many tech companies like Tesla and Solar City, both started by Elon Musk, are manufacturing in the United States. Tesla’s battery factory has already created 6,500 jobs in Nevada, and SolarCity’s factory in New York will be creating about 5,000 jobs in the state, and that is just a small start.
