What’s your five year plan? Well, even if you’re not sure, the e-mail marketing experts at E-mail Monday have got you covered with their annual predictions for the future of e-mail marketing, and many e-mail marketing users are looking into the future about five years to think about their strategy, according to a survey by eConsultancy, who performed a survey.
When they asked marketers what they thought about e-mail in the next five years, 76% of marketers believe that e-mail marketing will become even more personalized to the point that it is a fully personal experience, and 74% believe that e-mail marketing will remain the avenue of marketing with the highest potential for return. There were just a measly 9% of respondents who think that e-mail marketing will become redundant in the next 5 years, giving you a good view of perspectives on this form of marketing.
Right in line with these beliefs, a report of five predictions for 2016 from Communicator Corp says that the number one innovation for 2016 will be personalization. Marketing e-mail automation is becoming more advanced and complex, which will create the potential for more triggers for sending current and potential customers automated e-mails. However, as of right now, 63% of consumers agree with the fact that “Most of the marketing emails I receive include no content or offers that are of interest to me,” according to a survey from DMA, giving this area of e-mail marketing a lot of room for growth and tons of potential in 2016.
Another factor that will be important for e-mail marketing in 2016 that goes along with this idea of uber-personalization is making the jump from desktop to mobile e-mail marketing seamless. With more and more retail sales coming from mobile devices, the potential to capitalize on a perfect mobile campaign is there!
