Google Glass wasn’t a huge success the first time around. Sure people wanted to try it, but they got kicked out of businesses and in some instances even beat up for wearing the devices. The first images of the second version of Google Glass have been submitted to the FCC, and thus are available to the public. The newest version will be called “enterprise edition,” and look like it is easier to store away, simply by folding the optical part down and putting in your pocket, which will make it easier to take around with you and not have to wear it all the time. Even though some images did go life on the FCC site, Google still has not officially announced this product, so not much is known about it.
There is no glasses part to keep the device from falling off, and it appears to just be a thing that goes behind your ear which keeps it on. How will this work functionally? We’ll have to wait to find out…However, there are apparently a few hundred people testing this product out in the field right now in a program called Glass for Work. It does seem that this new version of Google Glass is going to be geared towards professional applications rather than consumer fun.
