eBay Enterprise Marketing Solutions is a service which provides customers with both display and mobile advertising, access to a large affiliate network, as well as search and social marketing services. They recently acquired a company called Affiliate Traction. This affiliate company is based right in Silicon Valley where they have access to all of the top talent and tech junkies of today’s modern world. They are a company that works with providers of products and services with the right affiliates and then matches up the affiliates with the right stores or end product placements for sale. They do this by providing publishers with comprehensive data about retailer websites so they can make the best decisions.
Due to this deal, the founder of Affiliate Traction, Greg Shepherd will become the Chief Strategy officer of eBay Enterprise Marketing Solutions. “The good news for agencies is that we will empower them with the same tools that contributed to our own growth and success. Publishers will now receive major enhancements, integrated into a single platform that features a massive base of premium brands.” He said of his new position.
eBay Enterprise Marketing Solutions CEO Michael Jones was also happy with the acquisition and addition of Greg Shepherd to their team. “This acquisition significantly enhances our performance marketing technology and enables us to better serve the complex, evolving needs of leading brands and retailers.” He told one online publication.
While the terms of the deal weren’t disclosed publicly, analysts estimate that the acquisition will expand this portion of the company by about 30%, while only increasing costs by 10%, making it a solidly good deal.
