Madison Logic, a digital branding company, recently released a helpful graphic of what they think will be important for marketing in 2016. Some of their suggestions are obvious to those in the digital sphere, but others could be things you haven’t thought about yet.
First of all, they predict that native advertising (ie, sponsored content) could help to change the sphere of online advertising. Right now, many people use ad blocking software to avoid seeing ads, but native advertising is one way to get around that barrier. According to Madison Logic, ad blocking software has grown by about 400% in the past year, meaning that your ads might be losing 50% of their power.
As in previous years, Madison Logic predicts that video marketing will be an important component to any digital marketing campaign. Videos are great because they get people actually engaged in your product or service. In addition, they predict that data will be more important than ever, as it become more predictive, making it essential in advertising and digital marketing.
Another thing that will become pretty important is marketing automation. According to Yoav Schwartz, CEO of Uberflip, 84% of high performing businesses will use some type of marketing automation in 2016. With so many marketing platforms and tools, it is pretty clear why automation is so important. With the ability to “set it and forget it,” any marketing manager can focus more clearly on strategy rather than logistics.
