Smartphones have so many settings for your own preferences and security, and you pretty much expect them to work when you set things up a certain way. However, users are starting to discover a glitch in Android software, that ignores their preferred settings in one instance. The glitch in question has to do with adware specifically, which is a particularly annoying thing that most people would probably opt out of. However, on Android, even if you opt out, it can still get installed! So be careful when you are downloading legitimate seeming third party apps, since that is where this virus comes from.
How it works is the virus app, called Shedun, sneakily gets control of your Android Accessibility Service, and even if you say no to pop up ads, it enables them. Then, every time you see a popup, the app can install even more adware! It’s kind of a nightmare and the worst part is – you can’t really get rid of it easily.
To avoid this problem – make sure you only install apps that are from verifiable sources. Research developers before downloading an app, and read reviews to see if others have encountered this problem when using the app. Keep your phone safe from ads!
